Originally formed in 1970, Dynamic Die & Steel provide the thriving engineering industry in Sheffield with a complete sub-contract machining solution.

We have a wealth of expertise and knowledge, offering specialist sub-contract machining services for over 50 years. We have expanded our area of expertise over the years to include medium/heavy machining for Mining, Aerospace and the Transportation industries.

Some of our most popular services include CNC Milling, CNC Turning and the manufacture of drop forging dies, all of which are backed up by state-of-the-art CAD/CAM software. We take on projects of all sizes from machining small to large batches, or bespoke one off components up to 10 tonnes.

Precision CNC Machining

We have the capabilities to machine CNC turned parts with tolerances down to 10 microns and surface finishes to 0.8 Ra in Titanium, Super Duplex, Inconel, Nylon, Waspaloy, Polyethylene, Tufnel, other high carbon steels, exotic and stainless materials.

Our CNC Machining capabilities include CAD/CAM operated CNC Turning and CNC Milling. We also offer 5 axis machining which helps reduce manufacturing time, minimise setup times and increase accuracy.

CNC Turning

We have an excellent selection of CNC turning machines, these include 2 axis CNC lathes for small, medium and large batch work. Our CNC turning machines can work with material lengths of up to 5 meters, with a range of diameter sizes from 1mm to 1300mm. Dynamic Die and Steel achieve high accuracy with tight tolerances.

First Stage Machining

We carry out medium and large size first stage machining for single component manufacture and batch work. First stage machining is carried out using either or both CNC machine tools including vertical borers and lathes, as well as conventional manual machines.

Sub Contract CMM Inspection

We have a specialist bespoke temperature controlled inspection room where all of our inspections take place. The inspection room is fitted out with fork truck access doors and overhead lifting equipment.

CMM inspections are carried out with our Quantum 4-665 Manual CMM which is supplied with a Renishaw TP20 and MH20i module. We also use the latest CMM software and a wide range of fully calibrated gauge sets.

Dynamic Die and Steel have dedicated QMS trained and experienced staff that manage and operate the inspection room.

Dynamic Die and Steel are fully accredited to AS 9100 and ISO 9001 accreditations. We are fully committed to maintaining and holding the highest standard of quality at all times through the QMS we operate.

You can rest assured knowing all of our staff are fully educated in our quality management systems and are actively involved its process and ongoing development.

We are able to provide full material certification and traceability on all projects.
