Inserts for Plastics

Self-clinching Hardware

A self-clinching fastener is a device that is pressed into ductile metal displacing the host material around the mating hole causing it to cold flow into a recess in the shank or pilot of the fastener. When properly installed, it prevents the fastener from rotating in the host material making it a permanent part of the item which it was installed. Self-clinching fasteners are used when good pullout and torque loads are required in a sheet metal that is too thin to provide any other fastening method, thus enabling a thinner sheet and a compact design.

Captive Screws

Captive screws are threaded screws which are held captive to a panel, when disengaged from its main nut the fastener remains fixed to that panel. Captive screws help keep parts to a minimum and eliminate the risk associated with loose hardware that could fall out and damage internal components.

Fan Screws

Ideal for mounting fans to chassis or finger guards to fans. Hardened screws form threads in mild steel, aluminum and hard plastics. Reduced-diameter point aligns multiple surfaces to be fastened. Choices of screw thread, length, head style and drive. Material and finish compliant with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive 2002/95/EC.
