Vacuum Formed Plastic Protective Packaging
The most important element to protect packaging is the safety of the product. Our vacuum formed plastic protective packaging is highly specialised using the best vehicle crash test machines. We make sure every product is dropped tested to the legal specification and requirements. We do this in order to keep the item safe from any damage through transportation. With our expert team of designers we know how to design and produce a plastic package that will enhance the products stability from being distorted. For example using crumple zones that will allow for shock absorption. The tests allow us to check that your product will remain safe in the packaging through all types of transit. We can do this with various techniques that we have learnt through the 25 plus years of work we've done in vacuum forming.

Vacuum Forming
We offer a wide range of services which enables us to produce everything from thin sheet packaging to thick sheet complex components. - catering for both large and small volume production. Materials commonly used are PVC, PET, HIPS, ABS, PP, HDPE, and Polycarbonate. We perform assembly work and adopt the responsibility of project management. Our consistent high standards are evident from the various awards our design team have obtained, including Gold in the British P.O.P. the Gold G.L.E.E. and a Star pack award. Using 3D cad work, we can produce a concept design from which we can create rapid prototypes and in turn, a production tool. Most samples and designs can be produced in a matter of days. The Manufacturing plants that we use to produce the vacuum formings etc all are credited with the BRC/IOP Global Standard and BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Standard.

Pressure Forming
When it comes to Pressure Forming we offer a complete service from tool design and manufacture through to final inspection and delivery.

The difference between vacuum forming and pressure forming are clear in the end product: Pressure forming moulds have a great finish. Their surface texture is more defined and the corners of the moulds are sharper and more accurate to the original design. You can have logos or certain textures marked into the plastic surface, this cannot be achieved with vacuum forming.

Plastic Box Inserts
Retail items like small parts often contain plastic box inserts in their packaging. Box inserts are lightweight and durable, they are also hugely beneficial to the environment. Our box inserts can be recycled without the need to send them to a landfill.

3D Vacuum Formed Printing

Materials
Plastic By Design is able to work in a wide range of materials although the most common are PVC, HIPS, PET, PP, HDPE, ABS and Polycarbonate in thicknesses up to 12mm.
