Ventx Limited is a major supplier of Industrial
silencers and inline industrial silencers. We offer
a bespoke design service to ensure each silencer is
manufactured to meet the customers specific
requirements. A Ventx industrial silencer uses a
combination of diffuser design and an absorptive
core section. Our designs are guaranteed to meet the
noise attenuation required, and this guarantee
extends to all workmanship.
Drawing on over 40 years of acoustic knowledge
and 30 years of quality silencer manufacturing.
Atmospheric Industrial Steam Silencers are the essential
component when venting steam, air, nitrogen or other
gases and are designed to reduce valve noise to
whatever level the customer needs. Ventx in-line
silencers reduce noise and vibration from control
valves and help provide a back-pressure to reduce
valve size. Or the second type of in-line silencer
offers a minimal pressure loss and would be used on
compressors inlets.
Ventx design and suppler a cost effective silencer
solution.
To design the right silencer we need:
... Flowrate
... Up-Stream Pressure
... Up-Stream Temperature
... Connection size and type
... Noise Level required
This will be enough information to get us started. Ventx
will help with a positive solution, and provide an Industrial
Silencer to do the job. Vent Silencers are seldom a catalogue
selection; at Ventx we design each silencer to suit the
customer requirements.
The silencers can be designed to provide a back-pressure which
can help when selecting a valve and this is why our silencer
inlets are always designed and manufactured with reference to a
design code. Ventx silencers are manufacture only using
good quality materials, and are offer in Carbon Steel or
Stainless Steel materials. All units are fabricated by an
Experienced and Qualified workforce and all our Industrial
Silencers are guaranteed for performance and build quality. We
manufacture only in the UK. Customer inspection is always
welcome.
Silencer design is constrained by the flow conditions and the
overall performance required. Ventx design each
industrial silencer to reduce the noise level to the required
sound pressure level specified by the customer. Ventx Industrial
Silencers have a basic design principle that enables us to
supply the best solution for the customer. |
Atmospheric Industrial Steam Silencer
This uses a
combination of diffuser design and an absorptive
core section. The gas and noise enter the silencer
through a multi-hole diffuser where it is permitted
to expand through many holes into the expansion
chamber. These units can be designed to be mounted
Vertically or Horizontally, and can have more that
one inlet. Optional available are Bird Screens and
Weather-Hoods.
Model CDS
Control Valve Silencer. This design of silencer
employs the same principle of acoustic design as a
vent silencer. This type of silencer is usually
designed to a pressure code. Ventx offer to design
to ASME B31.3, ASME VIII or PD5500.
Model DLS
Direct In-Line Silencer. These are designed to
produce as little pressure loss as possible, but
achieve the required attenuation using only an
absorptive section. Ventx design this type of
silencer to ensure a low-pressure loss. These units
are often found on Compressor Inlet and Outlets and
can be designed to a suitable Pressure Code.
Direct In-Line Silencers can be supplied as a simple
acoustic core for inserting into the customers pipe
work or vessel.
Model AES, SES & GES
This type of silencer is specifically designed for
use with Air, Steam or Gas Ejectors. Ventx calculate
the ejector noise and flow mixture. |
The Flow Rate of the gas determines
the diameter of the silencer so that the gas can safely pass
through without eroding the acoustical packing or regenerating
noise. The silencer length is governed by the degree of noise
reduction to be achieved. A Ventx Silencers uses a
combination of diffuser design and an absorptive core section.
The gas and noise enters the silencer through a multi-hole
diffuser where it is permitted to expand through many holes into
the expansion chamber.
The diffuser also provides a frequency shift to higher
frequencies, which are best attenuated by the absorptive
section. The gas then passes through this absorptive section,
which consists of perforated flow passages surrounded by dense
long strand fibreglass acoustical packing providing a broad
range of attenuation in the mid to high frequency ranges.

Pipeline discharging
directly into the atmosphere. This noise can be generated due to
the high velocity flow through the valve and turbulence created
around any obstacle in the line that suddenly restricts or
changes the direction of flow such as valve or an orifice
device. Vent silencers find wide applications in high pressure
vents, steam vents, safety relief valve outlets, system blow
downs, purge and flare outlets. The generated noise is a
function of upstream pressure and temperature, type of gas, the
valve size and type, plus the effect of down stream piping.
In-Line Silencers
An in-line silencer employs the same principle of acoustic
design as a vent silencer. A main consideration with in-line
noise is to reduce the vibration caused by the valve noise, as
noise is basically air born vibration.
There are two types of silencer for in-line applications;
Control Valve Silencers
Designed to provide a pressure
drop or back pressure and are primarily used in conjunction with
a control valve. The attenuation is achieved with a combination
of diffuser design and an absorptive section.
Direct In-Line Silencers
Designed to produce as little
pressure loss as possible, but achieve the required attenuation
using only an absorptive section.
Ventx can manufacture both types of In-Line silencer for
use in pressurized systems and to a suitable pressure design
code. There are a number of variations with In-Line silencers,
and we can design and supply just Diffuser Silencers or Insert
Silencers to suit your application.
Ventx silencers are also designed to provide a required
back pressure, which can help when selecting a valve and this is
why our silencer inlets are always designed and manufactured
with reference to a design code.
