Expansion into new markets

At Andel we have been waiting with bated and excited breath to announce a very exciting expansion programme, the time has finally come!

Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP under the Business Innovation Grant have awarded Andel Plastics a grant to help us install a Class 8 Cleanroom.

Andel Plastics has been involved in manufacturing medical components for over 20 years, but has never before had the space or requirement for a clean room. However, after the move into new larger premises 3 years ago, plans have been underway to try and make this possible, for a planned diversification into this market.

Customer requirements for a clean room were already beginning to grow, with an innovative new product that should be launched onto the market in Spring 2015 needing assembly in a clean room facility.

Then a whole new project has come to fruition which would utilise a large portion of the clean room capacity to justify the commitment to build one. Graham Robinson, Technical Director is confident that this ‘is a major turning point in the history of Andel Plastics” securing the future of current business and inviting new projects. As there is capacity available within the current plans for further expansion of the clean room services.

It is hoped that the Clean room will be open for service from the end of October, so busy times are ahead for the implement of the building works and all the ancillaries and job creation and training that it will entail.
