Manfacturing Achievement Award 2014

Andel Plastics are very proud to announce that we won an award for Manufacturing Achievement yesterday at the Made in the Midlands awards.

Made in the Midlands are champions of world class industry within the Midlands and as such their awards are hotly contested and a honour to hold.

Somewhat suprised Joint Managing Directors Graham Robinson and Helen Pitt collected their award for Manufacturing Achievement. Largely due to the investment, expansion and buisness diversification that they have been involved with at Andel Plastics in the last two years.

With the aide of ERDF funding, Andel Plastics have invested over £400'000 in new equipment and are currently installing a Class 8 Cleanroom to further diversify into the medical market.

Creating five jobs in the process with a potential for more on the completion of the clean room project the success of Andel Plastics was reflected around the room at the awards, proving that the Midlands really is a centre for Engineering excellence.

Graham Robinson, recently took the part of a Dragon within the Den for the Young inventor's award. After the event he commented that he was 'truly impressed by confidence and knowledge of the contenders. ' Many of the award winners yesterday were rewarded for taking on new apprentices and inspiring our future generations to be innovative engineers of the future.

Helen Pitt was particularly impressed with one acceptance speech, that commented that within the room were competitors who would usually not be working together, provingthat Made in the Midlands brings people together for the good of the region and the future of manufacturing.

Solihull MP Lorely Burt was keen to champion women in industry so it was refreshing to see several women taking to the stage to accept their awards. Helen Pitt was very honoured to have been one of them and proud of the achievements of Andel Plastics which was original founded by her father 39 years ago.

"After the award ceremony we proudly took some celebratory drinks and cakes onto the factory floor to thank all our employees, for without them we wouldn't have achieved this award"

It is Andel Plastics fortieth year this year and we hope it will be the best so far.
