Xylem's Bellingham + Stanley announce two new robust "factory" refractometers

Bellingham + Stanley, a Xylem brand News and PR from Bellingham + Stanley, a Xylem brand - Published 25 January 2017 The new RFM-M Series instruments, whilst catering for different needs, share common elements including fast, easy to use on-board software and a durable membrane keypad.
The new RFM-M Series instruments share common elements including fast, easy to use on-board software and a durable membrane keypad which offers tangible button presses to the user when compared to touchscreen variants.

Firstly, the new RFM300-M models bring the popular RFM300+ instruments up-to-date with a line of high precision Peltier temperature controlled benchtop refractometers. The RFM330-M and 340-M feature wide beam optics and a new chemical resistant membrane touch-button interface with 4” high resolution display meaning users can interact with the RFM300 Series refractometers with more efficiency than ever before.

Along with the new keypad users can expect to find a new housing which has been ergonomically designed to deal with any spills with the curves of its sleek chassis or by the PEEK spill barrier that surrounds the shallow, easy-clean steel prism dish.

Measurements with the RFM300-M are made through a familiar measuring mode or by way of a simple Methods system. Using Methods brings one-touch configuration of scale, temperature set-point and sample stability criteria together with the ability to store up to 8000 results alongside pre-set limits that can be used as an audit tool. Up to 100 Methods may be user-defined, with parameters such as scale and temperature set-points being configured through the keypad making use of the instrumentÂ’s on-board library of over 20 internationally recognised scales.

With RFID swipe technology now as standard, RFM300-M Series refractometers provide individual user clearance and a log of operator and configuration functions; useful within FDA regulated environments operating in accordance with 21 CFR Part 11, or where good practice is adopted, e.g. as part of HACCP.

The RFM300-M Series is ideally suited for use in demanding applications within the food, beverage, chemical and industrial industries.

In addition to the RFM300-M, the line of RFM700 refractometers has also had a refresh.

Designed with ultimate simplicity in mind, the all new entry level RFM700-M Series refractometers offer digital automatic technology at a competitive price. Incorporating the same durable keypad and similar on-board software as the RFM300-M Series, the latest models feature more scale and temperature compensation options than ever before in the RFM700 range; enabling the instrument to be used not only to directly measure concentration in the traditional food, sugar, and beverage applications (Brix, HFCS, salinity, etc.) but also in a number of other applications where temperature control is not required.

With a flat ‘easy clean’ sapphire prism and a ‘no-presser design’ the RFM700-M offers rapid cleaning once a measurement has been taken. This simple user maintenance and the instruments new Auto-sense mode (an ability to sense a sample being placed on the prism so that it can make a “hands-free” measurement) make the RFM700-M Series refractometers a sensible choice for users of variable abilities.
RFM-M Series refractometers offer choice performance, features & price making them ideal for use in all factory environments.
