Cranage EMC & Safety Announcement

Cranage EMC & Safety (Testing UK) News and PR from Cranage EMC & Safety (Testing UK) - Published 28 November 2019 We are delighted to announce that our Irish subsidiary company, Cranage Veritas, has this week been appointed as a Notified Body against the 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive.
The European Commission in Brussels has formally released a Notification of a Body in the framework of a technical harmonization directive certificate to Cranage Veritas.

This significant development comes just two months after we announced that our Irish subsidiary has been accredited by INAB (Irish National Accreditation Board) against the quality management requirements of ISO/IEC 17065: 2012 for the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU.

The Notified Body status in Ireland comes following a recommendation to ComReg after an extensive INAB audit process at the Cranage Veritas Limerick office; this included an assessment of key processes, skills and technical abilities.
Although our Notified Body status in the UK is presently unchanged, this new EU appointment, specifically under Annex III of the EMC Directive, means that Cranage can continue to offer statements of conformity for businesses involved with manufacturing, distributing or refurbishing equipment in the European market.
In addition, the Irish manufacturing community can also use Cranage Veritas as a local and independent authority to assess technical files for CE marking purposes and to provide independent conformity assessment and auditing services for manufacturers with in-house testing facilities.

Founder and Cranage EMC & Safety Managing Director, Keith Richens, said:
“It has been a very busy time for Cranage EMC & Safety and Cranage Veritas with a lot of work being done behind the scenes to make sure that we have appropriate procedures in place for our customers, protecting the services and outstanding standards they have come to expect from Cranage EMC & Safety. As Britain is potentially leaving the EU, it was important that we took steps to protect our position with Brussels as a Notified Body. In anticipation of market changes, we have extended the brand by establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary in an EU-27 member state. This week’s Notified Body news is an excellent achievement for all involved and testimony to the outstanding expertise and commitment of our dedicated engineers.”

At Cranage we pride ourselves on our position as an industry leader celebrating 25 years of testing Product Safety, EMC and Environmental Performance for national, European and worldwide markets.
We offer a host of technical and product-testing services from our UKAS accredited facilities in the UK. We also offer many ‘tailored’ solutions for evaluating products, such as compliance testing against published standards in a controlled laboratory environment or field evaluation at manufacturing premises.
