Throughout November we have been discussing software updates at LaneSystems and the one standing out is Windows 7. If youÂ’ve not yet upgraded this MUST be completed before January 14th 2020. After this date, Microsoft will not be providing any further support to Windows 7 users.
How will this affect me?
Once support has been removed Windows 7 will receive no further software updates. Continued use will mean PCs are vulnerable and open to potential threat. Worst case scenario will see a hefty virus and data breach connected to a hefty price tag and even a lawsuit.
Is upgrading straightforward?
Absolutely. Simply get in touch and we will help you through the process.
What are the benefits of Windows 10?
First and foremost systems will be secure with access to relevant support if and when required. Because PCs are using the most up-to-date version of Windows, software updates will become readily available to all users upon release.
Additional benefits include:
Speed: One major difference between Windows 7 and 10 is the speed in which systems startup. YouÂ’re up and ready to go within seconds on the latest version.
Universal Apps: Windows 7 does not have an app store. Search for required software using Windows 10 whilst allowing them to run securely in their own specific sandboxes.
Action Center: Similarly, to a smartphone, Windows 10 offers popup notifications and messages from installed apps. This could be anything from email messages to birthday reminders.
Voice Typing: All you need to do is press the Windows key and H on your keyboard. Your PC will then type everything you say. ThereÂ’s no complicated setup required.
The above list is a mere snapshot of Windows 10 benefits and with the main one being security, LaneSystems recommends upgrading now.
