Clean your trolleys - Protect your customers

Formbar Limited News and PR from Formbar Limited - Published 24 March 2020 Scientists have found that a trolley/basket handle has more bacteria than a public toilet!
With recent events it is important to protect your customers in every way you can. You could offer simple solutions just to make the shopping experience cleaner we suggest:

- Having anti bacteria wipes available near the trolley park, so customers can wipe down the handle before and after using the trolley.
- Around the store you could include hand sanitiser points, this would provide customers a chance to clean their hands throughout their shop.
- Each morning/evening the trolleys and baskets could be wiped down ready for the next shopper to use.
- You could get anti - viral spray to add even more cleanliness in the store.

Here are what a few supermarkets have said they are doing to keep clean:

Sainsburys work hard to keep their baskets and trolleys clean throughout the day. Where an item is sold loose, they provide small, recyclable bags which act as a barrier against potential contamination. The process of cleaning is regularly reviewed and improved where needed.

Asda have a “clean as you go” policy to ensure trolleys and baskets are cleaned and any rubbish is removed by colleagues throughout the day. They’re trolleys are also subject to regular independent cleaning audits.

Tesco colleagues monitor trolleys and baskets to make sure the high hygiene standards are maintained.

There are many shopping trolleys and basket cleaning services available, if this is something you would be interested in please contact us.
