Cranage EMC and Safety Spring Newsletter

Cranage EMC & Safety (Testing UK) News and PR from Cranage EMC & Safety (Testing UK) - Published 01 April 2021 We’ve been enjoying the Spring weather and we are once again grateful that we have had a bustling start to 2021.
UKAS updates
As usual, we start our newsletter with UKAS news. March is when we have our annual UKAS audit, and although it has been a virtual affair this year it has been just as busy for the team.

We are thrilled to be able to announce that we have again extended our UKAS schedule in recent months, this time with the addition of IEC/ BS EN 60335-2-30 and IEC/BS EN 60335-2-43. These particular requirements for household and electrical appliance standards are for room heaters, and clothes dryers and towel rails respectively.

WeÂ’re delighted that these updates are already driving new business from the EU, as manufacturers look for UKAS accreditations as confirmation of technical competency and accuracy, as well helping to demonstrate due diligence. Our annual audit confirms that our standards have been maintained and our scope continues to grow.

These updates coincide with the Manufacturers Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC) updating their “You are what you Heat” campaign, which represents the importance of having quality CE/UKCA marked radiators, something which is close to our hearts.

WeÂ’re expanding!
As well as EMC and Safety Testing, we have a comprehensive range of Environmental test chambers. Our environmental testing can simulate the conditions that your product will be exposed to in its lifetime, whether that be extreme temperatures, high pressure water cleaning, corrosive atmospheres or humidity. WeÂ’ve recently started work on an exciting new project to be able to offer full climate testing facilities, in anticipation of global UK exports. We canÂ’t wait to be able to share details of this in the coming months, so watch this space. It seems fitting that the team starting on the environmental extension have so far had to deal with the warmest March day for over 50 years, as well as a lot of rain and wind!
Our UKAS schedule continues to grow, giving manufacturers assurance of our technical competency and our accurate measurements
