Machining and Design Services

Our complete range of machining and design services are provided in our own facility located in Catcliffe, South Yorkshire on the Advanced Manufacturing Park. IIDEA are always investing in processes, modern CNC machining centres and people, we have the capability to precision machine a wide range of materials.

IIDEA can supply assemblies and components from start to finish or sub-contract machining from our convenient South Yorkshire base.

Milling

Our facility houses 2 state-of-the-art machining centres, the DAHLIH MCV-1200BA and the DOOSAN DNM650. These multi-axis milling machines allow us to complete parts with a reduced number or operations and setups. Our milling machines provide rapid and accurate machining of resistant, tough materials like titanium and nickel alloys in a range of heat treated conditions and grades.

Turning

To complement our suit of CNC milling machines we have a range of precision CNC lathes. IIDEA are well positioned to undertake demanding and complex machining tasks thanks to our machinery and extensive knowledge of materials processing in a wide range of metallic materials, from titanium and nickel alloys to aluminium alloys and soft copper. We undertake everything from complex, multi component assemblies to 'one-offs' and small batches.

Sawing

One of our main services is precision sawing of difficult metallic materials. Over the years we have made significant investments in a wide range of vertical and horizontal band saws. IIDEA boast some of the UK's largest vertical band saws capable of cutting titanium and nickel alloys in large sections.

Heat Treatment

IIDEA offer heat treatment services for small components either as part of the manufacturing process for components or as a "stand alone" service. Heat treatment modifies the properties and microstructure of metallic materials, for example to make materials more deformation or fatigue resistant, increase hardness or soften materials.

Heat treatment processes available:

- Annealing
- Hardening (Oil or Water Quenching)
- Normalizing
- Tempering

CAD & Prototype Design Services

Our prototyping and CAD (computer aided design) services draw on our extensive experience of engineering and design principles together with our materials and machining knowledge to provide a complete machining, design and prototype design service.
