New Machine – Citizen L32 Type 12 LFV Sliding Head Lathe

This new machine now brings M&MÂ’s machining capacity up to a total of 15 CNC Turning machines running 24/7 on small to medium size batches of components. The company are a multi-metal machining shop working with materials such as steel, stainless steel, brass and engineering plastics. CNC Turned Parts are produced for many industry sectors including Automotive, Pneumatic and Fastener.

The new machine purchased from Citizen promises much for the company in moving into a different area of subcontract machining. Low Frequency Vibration technology is fitted to the new instalment offering the ability to chip swarf on the most difficult to machine materials such as copper, bronze and aircraft grade stainless steels. The LFV technology has allowed M&M to run jobs lights-out from these difficult materials thus offering the customer a better product. Another important gain for M&M Turned Parts Ltd customerÂ’s has been reduced prices due to better efficiency and throughput of these complex components.

Components of 2mm diameter up to 35mm diameter can be achieved on this latest machine with lengths of up to 500mm possible. The machine can be operated in both guide bushed and guide bush-less mode depending on the nature of the component.

As a think ahead company, M&M always look to invest in machines of the highest specification offering maximum flexibility. Since the early 2000’s there has been an investment of over £2,500,000 on CNC Turning Machines alone. This has been supported by investment in areas such as CAD Software and the purchase of a DURR Ecoclean Hydrocarbon degreasing plant at a cost of £100,000. The company also operate the PSL Datatrack MRP system which is tailor made for the company.
