Distribution Challenges for 2022 - Electronic Components

Alan Butcher Components Ltd News and PR from Alan Butcher Components Ltd - Published 02 January 2022 As we move into February, how has the start to 2022 been?
Suppliers, manufacturers and customers are still facing the challenges of Covid, price increases, long lead-times and shipping delays. Add to this the need to be on top of changing environmental legislation, quality certification, customs procedures and VAT reporting, things are definitely not dull.

One of the most important roles of a distributor is to manage these issues and ensure information is available to customers when required. Customers need to be confident their supplier is aware of new shipping documentation requirements, updates to RoHS and REACH, changes to lead-times and price increases from manufacturers.

At Alan Butcher Components, we work with our customers to address the above topics. 2021 was a constant juggle to ensure sufficient stock levels, manage shipping costs and delays and most importantly, customer communication. It seems the situation hasnÂ’t changed for the start of 2022.

Despite the difficulties, it is an exciting time to be in the distribution industry. Covid will eventually have less of an impact on our lives and things will settle down. There are a lot of design projects and enquiries starting to be re-kindled and the business outlook is positive.

Our high level of customer service and communication has encouraged customer loyalty throughout these challenging times. Our team is on hand to provide quotations, technical support, order updates and product information. As an independent, family-owned distributor of electronic and electro-mechanical components, we are here to assist with your component needs.
